Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., and the Diocese of Trenton’s Department of Multimedia Production taped the Bishop’s Annual Catholic Appeal message this morning in St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square. The theme of this year’s appeal is “One Body in Christ.”

Bishop O’Connell and the Diocese’s Department of Development offer their sincere thanks to the parish for their hospitality in hosting the taping.

The Times of Trenton recently chose the Mount Carmel Guild of Trenton as one of two local, non-profit agencies to benefit from the newspaper’s Annual Holiday Appeal.

Throughout the holiday season, the Times will carry a series of articles on Mount Carmel Guild, the mission of which is to “enhance the life of those in need: body, mind, and spirit.” The diocesan-sponsored organization’s service offerings and clients also will be featured.

“Mount Carmel Guild is both humbled and honored to be one of the two recipients of the Times Holiday Appeal,” the Guild’s executive director Marie A. Gladney told The Times. “Our Board and staff will assure the donors that we will put the funds to good use in furthering our mission to help those who are struggling to make ends meet. “

The other beneficiary of the appeal is Anchor House, which has long enjoyed strong support from the parishes and people of the Diocese. It is likely best known for its 24-hour shelter, which is housed in the former Sts. Peter and Paul Parish convent on Centre Street, Trenton.
