July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., announced episcopal assignments May 25. They take effect July 1 unless otherwise noted and can be viewed, here.
The assignments include renewals and appointments to the Diocesan Curia, priest retirements, new pastors, administrators and parochial vicars, and appointments to special ministries.
As parishes and other ministries of the Diocese prepare to bid farewell to the priests who are moving to other assignments, and welcoming other, newly-assigned priests, a column Bishop O’Connell wrote in the spring of 2012 can serve as a resource. The column outlines the process Bishop O’Connell uses to discern the priest assignments, as well as reflects upon the concept of change.
