Georgian Court University, Lakewood, has been awarded $50,000 for student scholarships by the OceanFirst Foundation of Toms River. The grant provided 20 Georgian Court students with $2,500 scholarships for the 2013–2014 academic year. Mercy Sister Rosemary E. Jeffries, GCU president, said the awards allow GCU to offer a high-quality college education to promising students, many of whom would otherwise not be able to realize their dreams of earning a four-year degree without the generosity of donors like OceanFirst. OceanFirst Foundation has donated a total of $680,903 to Georgian Court since 1997.
