'Back to Church Sunday' in Bay Head

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

Sacred Heart Parish, Bay Head, will celebrate “Back To Church Sunday” the weekend of Aug. 29-30 in the church located at 751 Main Avenue.

Father Michael O’Connor, pastor, invites all Catholics who have been away from the Church, for whatever reason, to attend.  “Back To Church Sunday” is an opportunity for visitors to renew their relationship with God.  Information will be provided on the annulment process and how couples can go about having their marriage blessed; opportunities will also be available to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist at Mass. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:15 p.m. and Sunday at 8, 9:15,10:15 and 11:30 a.m.

In an invitation to Back to Church Sunday, Father O’Connor said that “God is always willing to welcome us back to make a new beginning and he stresses the importance of being part of a caring Catholic community and the benefits of coming together to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Everyday God gives us a blessing to help us live as good and honest people.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the weekend and parishioners are encouraged to invite at least one family member or friend who has been away from the Church. Fellowship will follow the Masses in the church hall after each Mass.
