The reason why I am with the Catholic Men for Jesus Christ is because my ministry is with High School Sports and we’ve combined with the Catholic Athletes for Christ (CAC) so we could develop a youth track here which is the future of this men’s conference.  While developing the youth track for the Catholic Athletes for Christ which is throughout the Trenton diocese and having High School Chapters around nationally.  We think we can bring a father and son component to this as well.  Which I think our Lord wants and needs us to help in fortifying the family.  So it’s a natural fit and I am so happy that the Catholic Men for Jesus Christ asked me to come on board a number of years ago, and that we can bring this together with the Catholic Athletes for Christ, as we saw today with Mike Piazza here.  That’s an example of how the CAC can combine with other men’s ministries.  I’m able to share my faith through the CAC because their ministry is through sports.  What the CAC does for me and what I call our Cath-letes, is that we can bring our faith and it’s fully integrated through sports. Our Kids that are Athletes- they really live their sports 24-7.  It’s so ingrained in them.  It’s the most influential platform of the US.  We have those that play sports and those that watch sports.  So we find that it can be a huge platform not only for myself to live my faith more fully as a coach but there to be even to be a even greater coach for our Lord while bringing the spirituality to the sports components.

It was a gift for me to be able to coach my sons and my daughters through athletic programs and bring them the Catholic Athletes in Christ program in my own parish.  It’s been powerfully important to me in my life, not only in my faith but also as a husband as a father.  We are a houseful of athletes and we’ve been able to fortify not only their athletic experiences but also their faith through that combination sports and spirituality that comes through our programs.
