Arthur L. Rosie, father of Msgr. Joseph N. Rosie

Msgr. Joseph N. Rosie, pastor of St. Paul Parish, Princeton, was principal celebrant of a Mass of Christian Burial April 2 for his father, Arthur L. Rosie, who died March 27. He was 82.

Born in Raritan Township, Mr. Rosie was a resident of Yardville for many years and a resident of Birch Hollow, Florence Township for 23 years. Mr. Rosie graduated from Trenton Catholic High School in 1950 and earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from St. Joseph College, Philadelphia, in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army, and upon his discharge was employed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs as a municipal finance auditor. He was the past president of the C&ED Credit Union.

A member of Sacred Heart Parish, Trenton, he served the community as president of the Holy Name Society, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the pastoral council and as a reader. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served in the offices of Grand Knight of the Trenton Council and trustee of the Bordentown Council.  He was also a Fourth Degree Knight of the Bishop Ahr General Assembly. He also volunteered with numerous organizations including the Federation of Holy Innocents Society for the Diocese of Trenton, the Serra Club and the Seton Associates of the Sisters of Charity of Convent Station.

Mr. Rosie was predeceased by his mother, Jennie Russo; his father, Frank Rosie; two brothers and two sisters, and his guardians, Nicholas and Jeanette Marfino.

Along with Msgr. Rosie, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann  Margicin Rosie; another son, Thomas (Christine) Rosie of Yardville; two grandchildren; a sister; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Entombment was in St. Mary Mausoleum, Trenton.
