Annual Charismatic Rally planned for May 18

Celebrating the Year of Faith will be the theme of the annual Charismatic Rally sponsored by the Diocese of Trenton Catholic Charismatic Renewal to be held on the campus of Mary, Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Rd., Middletown, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The day will include Mass celebrated by Father Jeff Kegley, pastor of St. Mary Parish, Middletown, and liaison to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

The rally will include keynote speaker Jim Murphy, a Catholic evangelist, lay preacher, master storyteller, and teacher of the Gospel.  He is a graduate of Wayne State University’s School of Social work and president of “Vera Cruz Communications.” The core mission of Vera Cruz (meaning true cross in Spanish), is to bring the Gospel to people in their everyday lives.

Dan Dirkes, music minister from St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, Hamilton, with a reputation as a gifted speaker and musician, will be the worship leader.  He is native of Ann Arbor, Mich., with a background in leading worship influenced by his involvement there in the Word of God Covenant Community, Renewal Ministries, Christ the King Catholic Church and LIFE TEEN, Inc.

The rally will also include an afternoon men’s track facilitated by Murphy; a women’s track to be hosted by Dr. Adriane Gullotta-Gsell, a psychologist practicing in Red Bank and lay ecclesial minister from Holy Cross Parish, Rumson; an all-day Children’s Ministry track for children age three to 12, and an all-day Life Teen track for teenagers.  The cost is $15 for adults, $10 for teens, $40 maximum per family and children are free.  To register online, visit www.dotccr.org, call Peggy Dunne at 732-671-0071 or email [email protected].

The vision of the Diocese of Trenton Catholic Charismatic Renewal is for all generations to return to the Upper Room and awaken to the transforming power and gifts of the Holy Spirit for the work of the new evangelization.
