The second of two Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing Masses was celebrated by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., Oct. 18 in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold. The couples honored were marking milestones of one, 25, 50 or more years or marriage. The first Mass was celebrated for couples from Burlington and Mercer Counties Oct. 4 in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton.
During the Mass, the Bishop led the couple in the renewal of their wedding vows and he also imparted a blessing upon them. After Mass, the couples had an opportunity to receive an individual blessing from one of the priests in attendance.
The Monitor is preparing special coverage of the Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing Masses for the November print issue as well as on TrentonMonitor.com. Stay tuned!
