In anticipation of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the United States, the U.S. Bishops had asked all Catholics throughout he country to participate in the Consecration of the Nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Diocese of Trenton responded to that call during the months of May and June when Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., visited the four named Sacred Heart parishes in the Diocese. The parishes are located in Mount Holly, Bay Head, Trenton and Riverton.
The Bishop’s visit to Mount Holly was covered in the June magazine on page 21. Following are recaps of his visits to the other three parishes.
