Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., surprised Father Jeffrey Lee and the community of St. Mary, Colts Neck, on the Fourth of July. The Bishop celebrated the 4 p.m. Sunday Vigil Mass in which prayers were offered for the United States’ marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. In addition to Father Lee, the Bishop was joined at the altar by Father Jean Felicien, secretary to the Bishop and diocesan chancellor, and army chaplain diocesan priest Father Rafael Esquen.
