“This was [a] successful event in terms of enjoyment and fellowship among married couples, while keeping the central theme that Christ is the key to a successful marriage.”
So said Lori McCahill, as she reflected on the first Post-Cana Marriage Retreat held Oct. 26 in St. Benedict Parish, Holmdel.
Hosted by the parish’s Marriage Ministry, the event was designed to bring married couples together to revisit the important lessons they learned during Pre-Cana, said McCahill, who directs the Marriage Ministry with her husband, Mike, and a team of fellow parishioners.
During the afternoon, McCahill said the couples, ranging from the newly married to those who are “well-seasoned” in their years together, enjoyed games, faith sharing, dinner and Mass celebrated by Father Garry Koch, pastor, who recognized the couples for their commitment.
“This enjoyable afternoon provided a stroll down memory lane, revisiting the important lessons learned to strengthen the vocation of marriage,” she said.
