Kaleel Lloyd, a student in Trenton Catholic Academy, Hamilton, was named a “Leadership Ambassador” by the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists.
Lloyd was selected for the award after demonstrating “exceptional dedication and divine leadership in helping to solve one of America’s greatest challenges: the growing shortage of young individuals aspiring to serve humanity in the honorable fields of medicine, science and technology,” according to a description of the program. He received this honor after participating in a week-long leadership conference entitled “Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders” held during the summer in the Tsongas Center at the University of Massachusetts. Lloyd was nominated to attend the congress by TCA guidance counselor, Steven Hrbayk, during his sophomore year at TCA.
The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who have a demonstrable GPA of 3.5 or above and want to become go into STEM-related careers.
