Congratulations go out to St. Peter School, Point Pleasant Beach, which was named a 2016 Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. It is among just 50 private schools nationwide, and only four across New Jersey, to be selected for the honor by the U.S. Department of Education this year.
“It is wonderful to receive the national recognition for something we have known for a long time in the Diocese, namely that St. Peter’s School in Point Pleasant is an outstanding school!” said Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. “As Bishop, I congratulate St. Peter’s Parish, the friars, the administration, faculty and staff of the school, our students and their parents on this great achievement. We often say with pride — as this national honor testifies — that our ‘Catholic Schools Have It All.’ We can also say with equal pride that our Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Trenton are blessed to have St. Peter’s among them and among the best in the nation!”
St. Peter School will join the ranks of six other schools in the Diocese of Trenton that have earned the Blue Ribbon designation in recent years. They include St. Ann School, Lawrenceville, awarded the honor in 2010; St. Paul School, Princeton, and St. Leo the Great School, Lincroft, both of which received the designation in 2012; St. Gregory the Great Academy, Hamilton Square, recognized in 2014; and Holy Cross School, Rumson, and Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Moorestown, both honored in 2015.
St. Peter School and all of the 2016 winners will be honored at a ceremony Nov. 7 and 8 in Washington, D.C.
