Looking to the Gospel story about Mary and Martha and how they sought intimacy with God in the midst of life’s busyness will be the focus of a day of reflection from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in Maris Stella Retreat Center, Harvey Cedars.
Using the theme, “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World,” the retreat will explore how the two sisters built their relationships with Jesus, and invite participants to see how they can answer Jesus’ invitation to wholeness and answer the needs of others.
The retreat presenter is Sister Anita M. Constance, a Sister of Charity of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, and author of several books including “Night Vision … Praying Through Change” (Paulist Press).
Sister Anita holds a master of education degree in special education and a master of science degree in religious studies from Fordham University in New York, a certificate in spiritual direction and certificates in grief ministry. She offers retreats, workshops, spiritual direction and pastoral counseling.
At the invitation from the National Board of Matt Talbott, Sister Anita serves as a director for Matt Talbot retreats, presenting topics that include “Letting Go,” “Forgiveness and Healing,” “Emotional Sobriety,” “Anger” and “Resentment.”
Sister Anita is a team member of Sacred Thread Ministries, a retreat team that nurtures the sacredness that is woven into the fabric of every life through spiritual formation and development.
