It’s been a busy month for teens from St. Charles Borromeo Parish.
During the month, teens from the Cinnaminson youth ministry worked to put together about 30 gift boxes for those in need. They collected toiletry items and placed them in wrapped shoeboxes.
The weekend before Christmas, the teens delivered the boxes to local motels in conjunction with the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Loving Lunches program.
Earlier this year, the parish SVDP Conference brainstormed ideas on how to expand their services in the community. Since the conference receives many calls from people staying in local motels who need help, the Vincentians launched Loving Lunches to help guests at three Cinnaminson locations.
“It was a nice chance for the different generations of the church to work together serving the in the area,” said parishioner and Vincentian Tim Hurley.
In addition, in mid-December, youth ministry members were recognized by the township for their volunteerism efforts. Over the summer, members of the youth ministry traveled to Wake County, North Carolina, to work with Habitat for Humanity.
On Dec. 16, the Cinnaminson Township Committee bestowed on the youth a proclamation by Mayor Ernest McGill and the rest of the committee for their good works.
