Joanne Krzywulak has become a familiar name around the Diocese since joining The Monitor staff as circulation assistant in March 2024.
Now Krzywulak looks forward to broadening her horizons and strengthening the mission of the diocesan magazine and its companion website, TrentonMonitor.com, in her newest role as the publication’s advertising coordinator. Her work will involve overseeing advertising sales and strengthening relationships with current advertisers. She ultimately hopes to expand the publication’s network of local businesses through outreach and relationship building.
“I want to get more local businesses to see the value of The Monitor,” said Krzywulak, a resident of Levittown, Pa., and a parishioner in St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Fairless Hills, Pa. “Not only will readers see their ads, but businesses should also realize they are supporting a really important ministry in the Diocese. It’s my hope to encourage more businesses to see the value in that.”
“It’s about making human contact,” she said. “It’s customer service through and through.”
Before joining The Monitor, Krzywulak worked as an advertising sales representative for the Trenton Times and the Trentonian. She also spent more than 17 years at Princeton University, most recently as coordinator at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, where she coordinated events, scheduled classes, processed reimbursements and supported graduate students and their families. She has been a licensed Pennsylvania Realtor since the 1980s.
In addition to focusing on advertising, Krzywulak will continue as The Monitor’s circulation assistant, managing subscriptions, processing payments and maintaining parish subscription records. That work has given her a deeper understanding of the Diocese of Trenton and a greater appreciation of The Monitor’s impact on its readers.
“Our subscribers really look forward to receiving the magazine each month,” she said. “If it arrives even a day late, they’re calling to ask, ‘Where is my magazine?’”
“The Monitor’s mission is about covering the events of the Diocese and the news of the Church locally, nationally and internationally,” Krzywulak said. Equally important is The Monitor’s commitment to publishing commentary from Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., as well as from other columnists.
“It’s through their writings that [they] remind us—the readers—of the joys and responsibilities of being Catholic,” Krzywulak said.
