Ginther, diocesan chancellor and executive director of Pastoral Life and Mission, was feted June 25 during a Mass of Thanksgiving in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold, with Bishop O’Connell serving as principal celebrant and homilist. He was joined by some 40 concelebrating priests, many who benefited over the years from Ginther’s counsel and collaboration.
“If we were to ask what has made Terry’s ministry so effective, the answer is found not simply in the positions she held but in the gifts she shared,” Bishop O’Connell said in his homily. “Throughout her ministry, Terry has used her gifts generously. She has brought wisdom to difficult decisions, patience to complex challenges, compassion to those in need and faith to every task entrusted to her. She has helped countless people discover their own gifts and their own place in the life of the Church.”
Following the Mass, the celebration continued with a dinner in the parish hall where Msgr. Thomas N. Gervasio, vicar general, expressed his appreciation for Ginther and introduced her to make remarks of her own. The former catechist and DRE was also remembered in a video tribute that included scores of well-wishes, special memories and photos of Ginther over the years.
