Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., issued the following message April 9.
Our Holy Father Pope Leo XIV has asked all the Catholic faithful to join him in a “Prayer Vigil for Peace” at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome this Saturday, April 11 at 12 noon EST (6 pm Rome time).
“Let us allow ourselves to be transformed by the peace of Christ! Let us make heard the cry for peace that wells up from our hearts.
I invite everyone to join me in a prayer vigil for peace, which we will celebrate here in St Peter’s Basilica next Saturday, 11 April (Pope Leo XIV).”
Please consult parish websites for further information on local prayer Vigils.
The Vigil will be livestreamed on Vatican Media/Vatican News, EWTN and other Catholic news media.
“Peace begins where hands join, hearts soften, and souls rise together in prayer.”
