Holy Eucharist Parish, Tabernacle, will offer a Bible Study on “Introduction & Interpretation of the Old Testament” Sept. 15, Oct. 22, Nov. 24 and Dec. 1 from 6:30-8 p.m. in Hoffman Hall. Discussions will focus on the historical and cultural perspectives as well as theological interpretations and will draw on the New Testament and teachings of the Catholic Church. John Tatham Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, will hold a Golf Classic Tournament Oct. 6 at Links Golf Course, Marlton. Registration is from 8-8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9. Fee is $125 per golfer and includes golf with cart, continental breakfast, buffet lunch and nonalcoholic beverages on the course. The tournament is a 4-person scramble with prizes for top low net teams, closest to the pin, longest drive and putting contest. Mary, Mother of the Church Food Pantry Bordentown, is currently open at the St. Mary, Bordentown, site only. The Holy Assumption site in Roebling is closed for repairs. Donations may be dropped off at the Bordentown site: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2-3:30 p.m.; Tuesday, 6-7 p.m., and Thursday, 9-10 a.m. Needed items include instant mashed potatoes, Ramen products, tea bags and canned dog food.
Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, Bordentown, offers a bereavement ministry to accompany persons grieving the loss of a loved one. The ministry’s next seven-week session begins Sept. 17 and will meet on Wednesdays in St. Mary School. Day and evening sessions are planned. St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford, will offer “Meeting Christ in Prayer,” an eight-week guided prayer experience for small groups. It is modeled on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Each meeting teaches and reinforces specific prayer practices such as Lectio Divina, imaginative prayer, meditation, the Examen. Thirty minutes of daily prayer is required by each participant. St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford, will show Season Five of “The Chosen” on Monday evenings Oct. 6-Nov. 24 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. “The Chosen” is a five-season, 40-episode series portraying the life of Christ and his disciples. The series is non-fiction with heavy focus on Scriptures including the Gospels and some Old Testament foundations, and fiction that does not contradict Scripture. Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, will serve as the location for a presentation, “Understanding Loss & Grief” Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in Henderson Theater. The session will help anyone experiencing loss learn about grief’s misconceptions, the uniqueness of everyone’s grief journey and insights about the six needs of mourning. Freehold Council, Knights of Columbus, will hold its fifth annual Blessing of the Autos and Car Show Oct. 4 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on the campus of St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold.
