Catholic Women of Zion Chapter 1 will hold a retreat day Nov. 9 from 9 am.. to 1 p.m. in St. William the Abbot Parish, 2740 Allenwood Lakewood Road, Howell.
The day will begin with Mass at 9 a.m. and include a guest speaker, networking and prayers for healing. The speaker, Father Thomas Maher, pastor of St. William the Abbot Parish, will reflect on “God Created the Angelic World; Who Are They?”
Father Maher, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of is priestly ordination on Nov. 25, obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology from Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum), and a licentiate in philosophy from Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, both Rome. In addition, he completed a short course in humanities in Spain’s University of Salamanca. He was ordained a priest Nov. 25, 1994, in Mexico City. He was named pastor of St. William the Abbot Parish in July, 2013.
