Toni Yates, a New Jersey reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News, will serve as the keynote speaker for the third annual Circle of Mercy Event to be held Oct. 7 starting at 8:30 a.m. in the gymnasium of Sisters Academy of New Jersey, 1416 Springwood Ave., Asbury Park.
Students, faculty, volunteers, parents and alumnae are expected to attend The Circle of Mercy Breakfast, which provides the opportunity to learn about the mission of Sisters Academy of New Jersey, a program sponsored by Mercy Center and is an independent middle school for girls in grades five through eight. The academy’s goal is to empower young women to encourage the young students, most of whom live in impoverished areas of the city, to pursue their education and set goals for their futures.
“The Circle of Mercy Event is one of the academy’s signature fundraisers and we are delighted that Toni Yates will join us for this year’s breakfast,” said Mercy Sister Carol Henry, executive director of Mercy Center, a program sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, Mid-Atlantic Community, that provides the chronically underserved population of Monmouth County with vital social and educational services.
“Sisters Academy is dedicated to providing our students with an education of excellence that empowers them to fulfill their vision of their future. Support from the community is essential to our mission,” said Sister Carol.
