Catholic schools of the Diocese of Trenton are making their marks today in communities across Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties for the second annual Catholic Schools Do It All Day of Service.
A spin-off of the diocesan awareness campaign, “Catholic Schools Have It All,” the service projects are engaging thousands of students representing 26 Catholic elementary schools and one high school in different activities on behalf of those in need and those who have given to their communities. Additional schools already have conducted their own Days of Service or will be participating later.
Pre-K through 12th grade students are cleaning public streets and planting flowers; hosting breakfasts or luncheons for seniors, municipal workers or military veterans; collecting books for and writing letters to children who are being treated in local hospitals; filling bags with essentials for the area homeless; preparing and delivering lunches to a local soup kitchen and more.
There are currently 32 Catholic elementary schools and seven Catholic high schools sponsored by parishes or the Diocese of Trenton. Together they serve nearly 17,000 K-8 students across Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties.
