“A Pope Francis Lexicon,” edited by Cindy Wooden, the Rome bureau chief for Catholic News Service, and Joshua J. McElwee, Vatican correspondent for National Catholic Reporter, has just been published by Liturgical Press.
The book is a collection of over 50 essays by contributors from around the globe, each writing on a specific word that has become important in the ministry of Pope Francis.
Writers such as Sister Simone Campbell, Chicago Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga of Honduras, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of Manila, Philippines, Jesuit Father James Martin, Anglican Archbishop Justin Welby and Carolyn Woo, the former head of Catholic Relief Services and a CNS columnist, explore the pope’s use of words such as “joy,” “clericalism,” “money,” “family” and “tears.”
