Consider volunteering with LBIF
The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences provides hundreds of culturally relevant programs that expand the understanding in the arts and sciences and improve the quality of life for visitors and residents of Long Beach Island and the surrounding communities. LBIF extends its events and programs to people of all ages and income levels, with offerings that include scholarship-funded opportunities as well as accessibility for people with disabilities.
Areas in which volunteers can serve include:
Office work • Assistance is needed for a variety of tasks including mailings, distribution and collection of course evaluations, taking pictures of classes and directing visitors to classes and workshops.
Brochure and Poster Delivery • the LBIF brochure is distributed throughout Long Beach Island and in the surrounding communities.
Facilities • Helping to maintain the LBIF buildings and grounds by participating in projects such as painting, yard work and general facilities assistance.
Gallery • Assistance is needed to hang and take down various exhibitions throughout the year.
Summer Camp • The LBIF Counselor in Training can help teenagers and young adults gain experience and learn to accept responsibility and team building by working closely with assistants and instructors at the Children’s Summer Camp. At CIT, volunteers will work with one of the camps – Tiny Tykes, Early Birds, Creative Arts and Crafts, Marine Biology and Nature Studies. The CIT’s can volunteer on a daily or weekly basis, either for the whole summer or for certain dates of interest.
