The Diocese of Trenton’s Department of Evangelization and Family Life is sponsoring a nine-week novena beginning Nov. 30 and leading up to the annual March for Life demonstration Jan. 27.
Young adult leaders and diocesan staff will travel around the Diocese to engage various parish communities in “A Rosary 4 Life” on Wednesdays throughout the novena. Participants will seek the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, as they offer prayer for the intentions of all life. All novenas will be streamed live on social media to encourage young adults to come together online for prayer.
“Our goal is to pray for the protection of life in our country,” said Jerry Wutkowski, diocesan assistant coordinator of young adult ministry, citing not only the life of unborn children but also legislation currently before the state Senate that would allow those with terminal illnesses to take their own lives. Known as the “Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act,” the bill calls for allowing terminally ill patients to self-administer medications in order to end their lives.
A novena will be held at 7 p.m. each Wednesday through December and January around the Diocese. That time of prayer will also be streamed live each week on social media at the Diocese of Trenton’s Family Life Facebook page. Learn more in this story from The Monitor.
