Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., hosted a luncheon June 16 in honor of Diocesan Chancellor and Chief Administrative Officer Anthony Mingarino and Diocesan Executive Director of Catholic Social Services Daughter of Charity Sister Joanne Dress. The luncheon was attended by members of Mingarino’s family, members of the Diocesan Curia and people that he and Sister Joanne have worked with, respectively.
Mingarino is set to retire at the end of June, ending a nearly-14-year tenure of leadership in the Chancery. Sister Joanne, who has served the Diocese of Trenton since 2011, is leaving to take on a new role as coordinator of sponsored works for Daughters of Charity in Missouri, where she will oversee social services agencies across eight states.
In a message released in early June, Bishop O’Connell wrote the following about Mingarino:
“It has been said that ‘the mirror of a man’s heart is his actions.’ How blessed has the Diocese of Trenton been to be that mirror for Tony Mingarino. May every joy and blessing be his and his family’s in the years ahead! Thanks, Tony.”
About Sister Joanne, Bishop wrote:
“Sister Joanne went about her work quietly but her actions never went unnoticed. She told me once that ‘all I ever wanted to do was serve the poor. And serve she did! … God’s blessing and St. Vincent’s charism go with you, Sister. Thank you. “
