Acclaimed psychologist Dr. Lisa Damour, best-selling author of Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood, will speak in Stuart Country Day School Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. The public is invited free of charge.
Dr. Damour’s presentation is titled, “Raising a girl? Six things you need to know.” She will speak on common misconceptions about raising daughters, and how parents can equip girls with the tools they really need.
Dr. Damour, who is the executive director of Laurel School’s Center for Research on Girls,
writes the monthly Adolescence column for the Well Family section of the New York Times, is a regular contributor at CBS News, and serves as a senior advisor to the Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University. Her New York Times best selling book, Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood, was released by Random House in February 2016.
Dr. Damour draws on years of clinical experience and the latest research to provide sound, practical guidance to girls as well as to their parents, teachers, and advocates.
