The performing arts students in Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville, will present the play Auntie Mame, Nov. 10, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on Nov.12 at 2 p.m. Performances will be held in the Backstage Theatre.
Based upon the New York Times bestselling novel by Patrick Dennis, the play and the film of the same title both set successful records at the box office. In the play, the title character finds her life, surrounded by wealthy friends, interrupted when the young son of her late brother arrives to live with her. Together, they cope with the struggles of the Great Depression in a series of adventures.
Ed Patton and Steve Lobis are the directors of this show. Dave Chebra is the technical director and Morgan Wright is the head of props.
This production is composed of influences from both the play and the movie adaption.
