A front row seat in history

Seventh- and eighth-grade students in St. Benedict School, Holmdel, Skyped with FIOS1 news reporter Kimberly Wallace Scalcione as she was covering President Donald Trump’s inauguration Jan. 20 in Washington.

Thanks to the online program, she was able to give the students an inside look of the press area where President Trump’s motorcade passed as it carried him to the Capitol.

The news reporter also answered questions that were prepared by the students and their teacher, Christine Keeling. St. Benedict School is adding more opportunities like this to its curriculum for students to get a more authentic learning experience, officials say.
