Burlington County

Holy Eucharist Parish Food Pantry, Tabernacle, operates by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Persons in need of financial assistance or food and live in Chatsworth, Shamong, Southampton, Tabernacle or Vincentown, should call 609-268-0005 and leave their name, number and brief message on the type of assistance needed. Holy Eucharist Parish, Tabernacle, will offer a Bible Study on “Introduction & Interpretation of the Old Testament” Sept. 15, Oct. 22, Nov. 24 and Dec. 1 from 6:30-8 p.m. in Hoffman Hall. Discussions will focus on the historical and cultural perspectives as well as theological interpretations and will draw on the New Testament and teachings of the Catholic Church. Holy Eucharist Small Group Ministry, Tabernacle, has planned a Bible Study, “Introduction & Interpretation of the Old Testament” will be held on Mondays Sept. 15, Oct. 22, Nov. 24 and Dec. 1 from 6:30-8 p.m. in Hoffman Hall. Register at the high top table in the atrium.

John Tatham Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, will hold a Golf Classic Tournament Oct. 6 at Links Golf Course, Marlton. Registration is from 8-8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9. Fee is $125 per golfer and includes golf with cart, continental breakfast, buffet lunch and nonalcoholic beverages on the course. The tournament is a 4-person scramble with prizes for top low net teams, closest to the pin, longest drive and putting contest. Mary, Mother of the Church Food Pantry Bordentown, is currently open at the St. Mary, Bordentown, site only. The Holy Assumption site in Roebling is closed for repairs. Donations may be dropped off at the Bordentown site: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2-3:30 p.m.; Tuesday, 6-7 p.m., and Thursday, 9-10 a.m. Needed items include instant mashed potatoes, Ramen products, tea bags and canned dog food.

Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, Bordentown, offers a bereavement ministry to accompany persons grieving the loss of a loved one. The ministry’s next seven-week session begins Sept. 17 and will meet on Wednesdays in St. Mary School. Day and evening sessions are planned. Topics include: “The Search for Acceptance: Beginning the Journey,” Sept. 17; “Bumps Along the Way, The Emotional Journey,” Sept. 24; “Is This the Right Road: Adjusting the Journey,” Oct. 1; “The Search for Meaning: The Spiritual Journey,” Oct. 8; “The Search for Connectedness: The Continuing Journey,” Oct. 15; “The Search for Reconciliation: Does the Journey End?” Oct. 22. St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Cinnaminson, collects frozen casseroles to be given to the poor of the area. Donations are made on the second Thursday of each month and given to Catholic Charities Emergency Services. St. Isaac Jogues Parish, Marlton, will hold a 22-week Women’s Bible Study Series beginning Sept. 11.  St. John Neumann Parish, Mount Laurel, will hold a Healing Mass and Anointing with Devotions to St. Padre Pio Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in the church. The day begins at 3 p.m. with Eucharistic Adoration until 6:15 p.m. at which time Benediction will be held. Confessions will be held from 5:15-6:15 p.m. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be administered after the homily. A blessing with a relic of St. Padre Pio will take place at the end of Mass.

St. John Neumann Mother’s Ministry, Mount Laurel, meets every first and third Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. in Room 2 in the parish hall. The gatherings offer times of reflection, joy and community. The group is open to mothers with children five years of age or younger. St. Joseph Council, Knights of Columbus, will hold the Fifth Annual Vehicle Show Sept. 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the church grounds. Rain date is Sept. 20. St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Burlington, holds Bible Studies on Saturday mornings from 9-10:30 a.m. in the parish house, next to St. Paul Church. Father Jerome Guld, pastor, leads the sessions. No prior Bible study experience needed.

St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford, will offer “Meeting Christ in Prayer,” an eight-week guided prayer experience for small groups. It is modeled on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Each meeting teaches and reinforces specific prayer practices such as Lectio Divina, imaginative prayer, meditation, the Examen. Thirty minutes of daily prayer is required by each participant. Thursday evening sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room in the parish office: Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct. 9, 16, 23, 30, Nov. 13. Lumen Christi Cohort, composed of the parishes of St. Gregory the Great, Hamilton Square; St. Raphael-Holy Angels, Hamilton, and Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton, will hold a 2025 Jubilee Cohot Mission Oct. 6-8, each evening from 7-8 p.m. in St. Anthony Church, Hamilton. Presenter is Dominican Father Bill Garrott whose topic is “Trifecta of Divine Mercy.” Nightly topics are: Oct. 6, “The Father Blesses;” Oct. 7, “The Son Heals,” and Oct. 8, “The Spirit Strengthens.” Doors open at 6 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 6:30. The Sacrament of Confession will be available each evening after Father Garrott’s talk. St. Anthony Church is Mercer County's Jubilee Pilgrimage Church and attendance at this event qualifies as a Jubilee Pilgrimage, with eligibility for a plenary indulgence. Lumen Christi Cohort, composed of the parishes of St. Gregory the Great, Hamilton Square; St. Raphael-Holy Angels, Hamilton, and Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton, will hold a White Mass for healthcare professionals Oct. 19 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Raphael-Holy Angels Church, Hamilton. The Mass is for those who work in any healing profession – physicians, nurses, compassionate care ministers, chaplains, mental health workers, therapists, technicians, health aides, support staff, residents and medical students as well as families, friends and supporters.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Adult Faith Formation, West Trenton, will offer a 20-week study on the Acts of the Apostles starting Sept. 28. Sessions will be held Sunday evenings from 6-8 p.m. in the church hall. The video series will feature Scripture scholar Jeff Cavins. Sessions will include small group discussions. Half of the proceeds will benefit the council’s “Coats for Kids” program to purchase new winter coats for children in need of the community. St. Ann Parish, Lawrenceville, will hold a St. Padre Pio Solemn Novena Sept. 15-23. Novena Masses will be celebrated at 8 a.m. on weekdays and Saturday, Sept. 20 at 8 a.m.; on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the 9 a.m. Mass. On Sept. 23, the Feast of St Padre Pio, Mass will be at 8 a.m. followed by a breakfast reception. Novena candles are available for purchase in the Gallery of Light. St. Anthony Church, Hamilton, part of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton, holds Evening Prayer and Eucharistic Adoration on the First Thursdays of the Month at 7 p.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available at 6:30 p.m. Upcoming dates are Aug. 7, Sept. 4, Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4. St. Anthony Church serves as Mercer County’s Jubilee Pilgrimage Church.

St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Hightstown, will hold a presentation on “An Introduction to St. Paul” Sept. 23 and 30; Oct. 14 and 21. Morning sessions will be offered from 9:45-11:15 a.m. and evening sessions will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Sessions will be held in the Community Room and will explore the life and teaching of St. Paul as well as reflect on key themes in his letters and how they provide insight for parishes. St. David the King Parish, Princeton Junction, will hold a four-week bereavement series for individuals who have experienced loss between three and 18 months ago. The group is limited to eight individuals. St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square, will host a Study Series on “The Bible and the Virgin Mary” from Sept. 11-Dec. 4. St. Paul Parish, Princeton, collects non-perishable food items to benefit those in need. Bins to place items are on the parish campus and items are accepted at all weekend Masses.

St. Paul Parish, Princeton, will begin its 2025-2026 St. Paul Presents Series Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Spiritual Center. Speaker will be Sister Emanuela Edwards, whose topic will be “The Missionaries of the Word.” Sister Emanuela is a member of the Missionaries of Divine Revelation, which is based in Rome. She is a world authority on how sacred art can inform catechesis and evangelization. She leads the renowned Art and Faith program in Romes major Christian basilicas and has appeared on numerous Catholic media platforms.

St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish Bereavement Support, Hamilton, meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the Spiritual Center. The meetings provide an environment that allows individuals the freedom to share stories and faith experiences. Monmouth County

Annunciation Council, Knights of Columbus, will hold its Annual Golf Outing Sept. 22 at Atlantis golf Club. Tee-off time is 1:30 p.m. Cost is $130 per person and includes greens fees, small bucket of range balls, lunch, dinner and prizes. Dinner will be Cuisine on the Green. Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, will serve as the location for a presentation, “Understanding Loss & Grief” Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in Henderson Theater. The session will help anyone experiencing loss learn about grief’s misconceptions, the uniqueness of everyone’s grief journey and insights about the six needs of mourning. Presenter is Dr. Alan Wolfelt, director of the Center for Loss & Life Transition. He also is on the faculty of the University of Colorado Medical School’s Department of Family Medicine.

Columbian Club of Freehold, the Freehold Council, Knights of Columbus, home, will host "The Game Show Experience" Sept. 26. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Fee is $30 and pre-registration is required. Freehold Council, Knights of Columbus, will hold its fifth annual Blessing of the Autos and Car Show Oct. 4 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on the campus of St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold. Food, music, games, and trophies will be included. Fee for car shows is $20 in advance or $25 the day of the show. Rain date is Oct. 11. Speaker will be Sister Emanuela Edwards, whose topic will be “The Missionaries of the Word.” Sister Emanuela is a member of the Missionaries of Divine Revelation, which is based in Rome. Ken’s Kitchen is a free social lunch program sponsored by St. Mary Parish, Barnegat, which welcomes people of all faiths from Barnegat and surrounding communities. St. Mary Parish, Barnegat, will hold its annual Art Show and Sale Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the parish center in Manahawkin. More than 30 artists are participating and will feature oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, pencil drawings, photography, painting on silk and cards. Lunch will be available for purchase. St. Mary Parish Seasons of Hope Bereavement Ministry, Barnegat, will offer a six-week series from Oct. 1-Nov. 5. Sessions will meet from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Monsignor Reinbold Hall. St. Monica Parish, Jackson offers a grief support group for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one or friend. A program introduction will be held Sept. 21 at 12:15 p.m. in the main church. Visitation Parish St. Vincent De Paul Society, Brick, hosts the “Blessings of Love Sandwich Project.” Every Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall, junior Vincentians and Mini-Vinnies gather with family, friends and neighbors to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless.
