September 11, 2024 at 7:00 a.m.

On Oct. 5, the Diocese of Trenton Catholic Charismatic Renewal will host a workshop called “Living in Freedom– Praying the 5 Keys of Unbound” at St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Middletown.

Led by the main speaker Jim Tortorici, the conference is both a spiritual retreat and info session open for all parishioners.

“This workshop is a hands-on presentation of the five keys as presented in the well-known book, ‘Unbound’ by Professor Neal Lozano, of Villanova University.”

He continued to explain, “The 5 keys are ‘simple’ yet ‘powerful’ truths: they are practical models for every Catholic to experience and to be deeper in the freedom and healing that Jesus has won for us”

One truth he mentioned that will be discussed at the workshop is “forgiveness”.

“We will dive into what it means to forgive and how powerful Jesus’ unconditional forgiveness is and what we can learn from it today.”

The workshop will also feature teachings and discuss on giving a personal testimony and advice on how to pray by Francine Mautone.

Tortorici, who has many years of theology experience, has a specialty on teaching the power of the Holy Spirit and Pentecost. Since 2017, he has served as the coordinator for New Jersey Encounter School of Ministry.

Tortorici has also taught theology and business ethics at Christian Brothers Academy since 2022.

Also speaking at the conference is St. Mary Parish pastor, Father Jeff Kegley who is currently the Liaison of the movement will also speak at the conference.

A member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal for more than 35 years, Father Kegley has stated his attendance to charismatic prayer meetings at his home parish, St. Ann, Keansburg, was an inspiration for him to enter the priesthood.

There is no charge for the workshop, but prior registration is requested and a free will offering will be accepted.
