Giving spirit growing with the 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal

October 15, 2024 at 9:53 a.m.

The diocesan Department of Development recently reported that parishioners’ response to the 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal has been very encouraging.

Nearly every metric has shown an increase over last year’s campaign, including the total pledged ($5.5 million); the total paid ($5.3 million), and the 24,700 gifts. Additionally, this year there are 39 parishes which have reached their goals, compared to 30 parishes in 2023.

With less than three months left before the end of the calendar year, the Development Department team is focused on meeting the ACA’s overall goal of $6.5 million. A mailing, featuring messages from Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., and local pastors, will go out this month to members of the Diocese who have not yet responded to the Appeal.

“We’ve had many successes in this year’s Appeal,” said Christine Prete, Director of Development, “but we’re still not quite where we need to be, based on historical trends. We understand that we are living in a time of economic uncertainty, especially for the 62% of our donors who give gifts of $100 or less. For those unsure whether making a gift this year is feasible, I encourage you to take another look at this year’s campaign and consider the lives your gift could touch. Thanks to your generosity, individuals are deepening their connection with God. They, in turn, can give back and continue spreading the joy of our faith.”

If you would like to make your gift today to the Annual Catholic Appeal, send check, cash or money order payable to Annual Catholic Appeal to Diocese of Trenton, P.O. Box 70170, Newark, NJ 07101, or visit dioceseoftrenton.org/catholicappeal to make a safe and easy online donation.
