White Mass planned for healthcare workers Oct. 15 in Toms River

In honor of St. Luke, patron saint of physicians, the 10th annual White Mass will be held for all healthcare workers on Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. in St. Luke Church, 1674 Old Freehold Rd., Toms River.
Co-sponsored by St. Luke Parish, Toms River, and St. Michael Parish, Long Branch, the celebration is open to those of all faiths in the healthcare profession, their families and friends. The White Mass is so named for the traditional white coats and uniforms worn by medical personnel and is a special way to recognize all healthcare staff.
Attendees may feel free to wear their white lab coat or other work attire as desired. The Mass will include a blessing of the hands and will be followed by a reception.
