Funeral arrangements have been announced for James J. King Sr., who died June 10 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Langhorne, Pa.. He was 71.

Mr. King was the father of James J. King Jr. executive director of the New Jersey Catholic Conference.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated June 24 at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, 201 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Morrisville, Pa. Attendees may gather at the church from 10:30 to 11. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, Pa., and held at the convenience of the family.

Mr. King was born in Trenton, and spent his childhood in Bordentown. He eventually settled with his wife Anne Marie in Morrisville, Pa.

Mr. King graduated from Cathedral High School, Trenton, in 1969. He pursued studies in St. Joseph University, Philadelphia, then went on to pursue a career with the Burlington County Sheriff’s department. Following his time as sheriff’s deputy, he began a career as a computer programmer.  His passion for computer programming was evident in how often he would donate his time to individuals and organizations to help them with their various tech needs.

In Holy Trinity Parish, he was a part of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults team and served as a lector, cantor and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Mission Fire Company of Bordentown.

Mr. King was predeceased by his parent, a brother and his wife, Anne Marie (Keister) King. In addition to his son and his wife, he is survived by a brother and sister and their families; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church (www.holytrinitymorrisville.org).
