General surgeon David Okolica recently joined the medical staff of St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. He specializes in bariatric weight loss surgery as well as general surgery. At St. Francis, he will offer patients a comprehensive range of bariatric surgery procedures, including laparoscopic gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy.

Prior to joining St. Francis, Okolica was an attending surgeon for the past five years at Auburn Community Hospital, Auburn, N.Y. Prior to that, he was medical director for bariatric surgery at the Center for Metabolic Health at Hartford Healthcare Medical Group and the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain, Conn. He also served as a general and bariatric surgeon at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, PA.

Okolica earned his medical degree from New York Medical College School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He later completed a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa., and a bariatric surgery fellowship at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.

Board-certified in general surgery, Okolica is a fellow of the American College of Surgery and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Okolica is currently accepting new patients for both general and bariatric surgery at his office located at 1225 Whitehouse Mercerville Road, Building D, Suite 203, in Hamilton. To make an appointment or for more information, call 609-581-6060.
