From Staff Reports

The renowned 42-piece Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea – and its conductor – Father Alphonse Stephenson, will be presenting two concerts across the Diocese this December to put an extra spring in your step.

Father Stephenson continues this annual holiday tradition by leading the orchestra in classic holiday tunes, interspersed with his well-known personal humorous anecdotes. Father Stephenson is known locally as a retired priest of the Paterson Diocese and Jersey Shore conductor, and nationally as a brigadier general in the U.S. Air National Guard and Broadway music director.

The first concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in St. Dominic Church, 250 Old Squan Road, Brick. Proceeds will benefit the village of Zada, Ethiopia – a village adopted by St. Dominic parish.

Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door and will be sold in St. Dominic Church following weekend Masses. For purchase, call 732-840-1410 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Only checks and cash accepted.

The second concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 in Immaculate Conception Church, 540 Chestnut Ave., Trenton. The church is a worship site of Our Lady of the Angels Parish. It is being presented by the parish and Trenton Catholic Academy.
