St. Aloysius Parish offers 'Catholics Returning Home' program


St. Aloysius Parish, Jackson, will once again host its “Catholics Returning Home, An Open Door for Returning Catholics” program.

The six-week program, which runs from Sept. 13 to Oct. 18, may be of interest to persons who were raised Catholic but seldom attend Mass; Catholics who feel separated from the Church, and persons who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Church in the present day.

The sessions will be offered twice on Tuesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The schedule of topics, which will be presented by members of the parish staff include: Welcome-Overview of the Series, Sept. 13; Sharing Stories of Faith (along with the showing of the film, “Stories of Faith from Catholics Returning Home), Sept. 20; The Church Today: Changes since Vatican II, Sept. 27; Walk-Through of the Mass (along with an explanation and historical overview), Oct. 4; The Creed: What Catholics Believe, Oct. 11, and Explanation of the Sacrament of Penance (Confession), Oct. 18.

The structure of the sessions is informal round-table discussions with opportunity for participants to ask questions in a welcoming and comfortable environment.
