Smiles bountiful during Easter food blessings at St. Monica Church

As was similar in many churches across the Diocese during Holy Week, parishioners in St. Monica Church assured their Easter feasts wouldn’t be served without the most important ingredient – God’s blessing – as they brought baskets of food to the Jackson church March 31.

Bottles of wine, loaves of bread and even brightly decorated eggs were presented to the altar Holy Saturday morning, where Deacon Christian Knoebel prayed over the bounty.  Father Alex Enriquez, parish administrator, was on hand to visit with parishioners.
