Six new priests to be ordained by Bishop on June 4

“You are a priest forever in the manner of Melchizedek.” That verse, from Psalm 110, will be ringing in the ears of six men who will be ordained priests of the Diocese of Trenton by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, June 4, beginning at 10 a.m.

While each of the six men have their own individual journey toward becoming priests, they all share a common commitment to serving others as Christ would, and becoming part of the holy fraternity that is the spiritual descendants of Melchizedek and all ordained men who have dedicated their life to serving God.

Brief profiles of the six candidates follow:

At St. Mary’s, Deacon Colavito has pursued a bachelor of sacred theology degree; a master of divinity degree and a master of arts degree in theology.

Deacon Augusto “Al” Lorenzo Gamalo, 28, was born in Tacloban City Philippines. He attended elementary school and high school in Tacloban City before receiving his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Nativity of Our Lady College Seminary in Borongan, Philippines.
