Sister Margaret Donohoe, worked at Mount Carmel Guild

Funeral services will be held in St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown, Pa., Feb. 12 for Sister of St. Joseph Margaret M. Donohoe, who died Feb. 5 at age 82.

Born in 1933, the former Sister Margaret Eugene was a professed member of the Sisters of St. Joseph. She professed her first vows in Sept., 1950 and her final vows in Aug., 1958. Sister Margaret earned a bachelor’s degree from Chestnut Hill College, Chestnut Hill, Pa., and a master’s degree in social work.

Sister Margaret served as a teacher first in Clearwater, Fla., then at a number of schools in the Philadelphia Archdiocese. In the Diocese of Trenton, she served as a case worker in the Mount Carmel Guild, meeting with clients for food pantry and other assistance until herretirement in 2012. “She was very well loved,” remembered Dominican Sister Loretta Maggio, the Guild’s emergency assistance program director. “She had a gentle, verypositive personality.” Sister Margaret is survived by one brother and three sisters; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grandnephews and the members of her community. The viewing will be Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA. 19031.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 3 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Joseph Villa, and condolences may be shared at kollerfuneralhome. com.
