Save the date for annual golf outing to benefit retired priests

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The eighth annual Bishop John C. Reiss Memorial Golf Outing is scheduled for June 10. Co-sponsored by the Diocesan Department of Development and the Harris family, the event will be hosted at Spring Lake Golf Club, 901 Warren Ave., Spring Lake Heights. The golf outing will benefit the Harris Family Charitable Trust for the Aged, Infirmed and Disabled Priests of the Diocese of Trenton.

Registration begins the day from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., with a luncheon afterwards from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Opening prayer will take place at 12:15 p.m., followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and scramble format. Dinner and cocktails will be available immediately after the tournament; highlights will include door prizes, a hole-in-one contest, raffles and a closest to the pin competition.

“This Trust has been critical in helping to fund the costs incurred in the care of these holy and dedicated members of our Church family for many years,” said Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., in a letter to invitees. “Your participation will essentially help maintain the priests’ retirement residence at Villa Vianney, [Lawrenceville,] and support the healthcare needs of our retired priests.”

Cost per individual golfer is $750; cost to attend the dinner and cocktails only is $100. Registration includes full used of the locker room, all beverages and gratuities. Various sponsorship levels and program ads are also available.

To register online, fill out the form at dioceseoftrenton.org/golf, or return completed forms to Diocese of Trenton, 701 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, N.J. 08648. For details, including sponsorship opportunities, contact Shannon Crawford, 609-403-7127; [email protected].
