Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., reflects on his visit with Archbishop Waclaw Depo:
“It was an honor and privilege to welcome Archbishop Waclaw Depo of the Polish Metropolitan Archdiocese of Czestochowa to my home for lunch on Thursday, August 9. What a delightful man and what a wonderful, historic post to have. It is by sheer coincidence that this weekend our Polish Catholics from the Diocese of Trenton will embark upon their annual pilgrimage to the Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown. PA. Joined by his priest-secretary Father Mariuz and his American host Father Marian Kokorzycki, parochial vicar of St. Mary of the Lake Parish in Lakewood, Archbishop Wepo enjoyed the company of several of our Polish priests: Msgr. Casimir Ladzinski, retired; Msgr. Edward Arnister, pastor of St. Rose Parish in Belmar; Father Jacek Labinski, pastor of St. Hedwig Parish in Trenton; Father Marcin Kania, parochial vicar of St. Gregory the Great in Hamilton Square, and Father Adam Midor, priest chaplain for Capital Health Medical Centers in Hopewell and Trenton. Sharing stories of the homeland, our priests also sang several Polish songs to entertain the Archbishop before his return to Poland.”
