Newly installed pastors garner congratulations on social media

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., installed two pastors during Masses the weekend of Aug 20-21. Father John K. Butler was installed as pastor of St. Michael, West End, and Father Rene Pulgarin was installed as pastor of St. Joseph, Keyport.

Faithful of the Diocese took the opportunity to express their congratulations for the newly installed pastors on Facebook (you can read about their installation Masses on page 26). Some responses have been edited for length and clarity:

Jewel E Brennan: Congratulations Father John! Remember to preach some of our professors’ Scripture lectures. Blessings on your ministry!

Maura Clare Domashinski:  [Love] St. Joseph in Keyport! God Bless our new pastors!

Michael Collins: Two good men and wonderful priests! Congratulations to both and God bless both!

Debbie Calabrese Gallucci: Congratulations! We must pray for our priests!

Christine Aliseo: Wow! … I know you will do a great job in your parishes! God Bless you both!

‘Express Your Selfie’

The Diocese of Trenton’s Catholic Alumni Partnership is making a social media shout out to young alumni of Diocesan elementary schools. Those 23 and younger are asked to post why they loved their Catholic school experiences to social media as part of the “Express Your Selfie” campaign with the hash tags

Young alumni should have received a postcard (similar to the one cutout in the photo shared by Trenton Catholic Academy) with instructions on how to participate in this social media initiative. If you don’t get one and are an alumni of a DOT elementary school who is younger than 23, please call 609-403-7130 or email [email protected].

CAP is a program that strives to create sustainable solutions to enhance Catholic elementary schools well into the future. The program is committed to preserving Catholic schools and the values they instill in students and alumni, and 100 percent of donations made to CAP go to Catholic elementary schools in the Diocese of Trenton.
