NET Ministries to lead Young Adult Night March 16

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

From staff reports

A Young Adult Night with National Evangelization Team (NET) Ministries is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. March 16  in the Monmouth University Catholic Student Center, West Long Branch.

“It will be a time for fellowship with other young adults of the Diocese and for meeting the NET team members,” said Cristina Imparato, diocesan coordinator for young adult ministry.

Part educational and part evangelical, the event goal is for young adults to learn what NET Ministry is about as well as to spend time with other members of the diocesan young adult community.

Geared toward college-age through age 30, the event is sponsored by the diocesan Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, and will include dinner, witness and prayer. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place, and participants will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the evening.

Music will be provided by Lorrie Tomlinson, music minister in St. Mary, Mother of God Parish, Middletown. Adoration and Reconciliation will be facilitated by Father Martin O’Reilly, chaplain for the Department of Youth and Young Adults, and parochial vicar of St. Catharine-St. Margaret Parish, Spring Lake; and Father Mark Nillo, parochial vicar of St. Michael Parish, West End.

As stated on their website, NET Ministries challenges young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Church. Each summer, 175 young Catholics ages 18-28 leave their homes, schools and jobs to travel across the United States for nine months to share the Gospel with young people and their families. Since its 1981 beginnings, the Minnesota-based, nonprofit organization has led more than 30,000 retreats and ministered to more than 1.8 million young Catholics. NET Ministries is under the ecclesiastical leadership of the Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
