Lourdes offers 'Walk, Dine and Shop With a Doc'


Lourdes Cardiology has launched “Walk, Dine and Shop With a Doc.” During this free, three-part program, participants join a Lourdes cardiologist for a: walk at a local park and health discussion; a presentation, including blood pressure screening, seated chair massage and healthy snacks, and a smart shopping experience with a ShopRite dietician, discussing heart-healthy eating options while learning about important wellness information from a Lourdes cardiologist.

Dr. Vivek Sailam will kick off the fall program Sept. 21 at 8:30 a.m. at Rancocas State Park, 800 Rancocas Rd., Westampton. The school  includes:

Registration/pick-up t-shirt and water bottle – 8:30-8:45 a.m.

Introduction/welcome – 8:45-8:50 a.m.

Wellness discussion with Dr. Sailam – 8:50-9:15 a.m.

Guided wellness walk – 9:15-10:15 a.m.

Lourdes cardiologist Dr. Hafeza Shaikh will offer “Wellness Tips for a Healthy Heart” lecture and question-and-answer session Oct. 12 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Willingboro Library, 220 Willingboro Parkway, Willingboro. Chair massages, health screenings and refreshments will follow the lecture.

Dr. Geoffrey Zarrella, a cardiologist and a ShopRite dietician lead a supermarket tour on Nov. 14 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the ShopRite of Burlington, 1817 Mount Holly Rd., Burlington. During the tour, Dr. Zarrella will discuss heart-healthy eating options and how they impact cardiac health.

Dr. Devender Akula and a ShopRite dietician will hold another grocery event Dec. 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the ShopRite of Hainesport, 1520 Route 38 East, Hainesport.
