The faithful of Christ the King Parish, Long Branch, commemorated the Passion and Death of Jesus during a presentation March 30 of the Living Stations of the Cross.
Beginning inside the parish hall of Holy Trinity Church, dozens of parishioners in elaborate costumes re-enacted the capture, trial, Crucifixion and burial of Christ on Good Friday.

The presentation continued with an outdoor procession that traveled along surrounding streets of the Monmouth County shore town and was witnessed by hundreds of onlookers. Following the procession, faithful gathered in Holy Trinity at 3 p.m. for the Good Friday service.
At top right, Jesus (portrayed by Roniester De Lima) falls as Roman soldiers João Paulo Santos, Weltoni Braga and Ricardo Silva laugh, and at right, his mother Mary (Juliana Pessoa), Mary Magdalene (Dayane Silva) and his disciple John (Fábio Borges) mourn over Jesus’ dead body.
