July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The Lower School students in Trenton Catholic Academy, Hamilton, collected gifts during the Advent season for the school’s Giving Tree Project, some of which benefitted Christine’s Hope for Kids – an organization that made holiday bags for children in need. Standing with Santa are TCA second-grader Joy Sloh, left, and first-grader Dayami Quiros. TCA plans to host a Pajama Day fundraiser Jan. 12 to support the continued charitable works of Christine’s Hope for Kids. The organization was founded in 2010 to help less fortunate children, and to support local community agencies working in service of children – including HomeFront, YMCA, Womanspace, Big Brother / Big Sister of Mercer County, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and the Children’s Home Society. Christine’s Hope for Kids, started by John and Jean Gianacaci of Hopewell Twp., is named for their 22-year-old daughter Christine, who died during the 2010 Haiti earthquake while visiting the country on a mission for the poor, with fellow students from Lynn University, Fla.
