The Georgian Court University Community Chorale, composed of a diverse group of men and women of all ages, will present its annual Christmas concert Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Dorothy Marron University Community Chapel located on the historic GCU campus in Lakewood.
Conducted by Karen Mulhall, the chorale will perform a wide variety of seasonal favorites from classical to popular tunes. There will be songs sung in Russian, a cappella, and an early rock ‘n roll song from the 1950s. Some of the well-known holiday songs that will be performed include “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson; “O’ Holy Night,” arranged by Rene Clausen; “Rejoice and Be Merry” by John Rutter. and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” arranged by Paul Langford.
“I am especially excited about this concert as the new members include some Georgian Court students,” said Mulhall. “The choir will be accompanied by piano, strings, flute, and percussion. The selections are varied in styles and language, with both popular and classical pieces of music.”
Tickets will be sold at the door. Admissions are $15 for adults; $10 for seniors, and free for GCU students with ID, children, and GCU community members with ID. For more information, contact Claire Lebret at 732-948-9464. No reservations or advanced purchase are required.[[In-content Ad]]
