Faith In Action: St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center

The following organizations are in need of volunteer assistance:

St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, located at 2381 Lawrenceville Rd., Lawrenceville, seeks extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion on an ongoing basis.

Assignments would involve visiting patients once a week for about two hours. To best meet patient needs, volunteers would be needed at noon time and after 4 p.m. and into the early evening.

The pastoral care department in Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, is in need of extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion and/or as Front Desk Guest Relations Officers who demonstrate compassion; excellent listening skills; respect for different values, traditions and ethnicities; mature care of their own spiritual life. Responsibilities include: an initial training by the volunteer department; an initial training by the pastoral care department; a weekly visitation schedule with a short list of patients; completion of simple tracking forms.
