Epiphany Parish thanks Monitor

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The Church of Epiphany would like to thank you for your coverage of our annual Thanksgiving Dinner.  We received many calls the next day from readers who saw the article.  As you know all of the food is cooked and donated by our parishioners.  All of our help is volunteers.  It gave them a lift to read about what they had done.

Just some facts:  we delivered 750 meals to the homebound and served 150 at the church.  The rest of the meals were taken to families with no Thanksgiving meal that we heard about by word of mouth on Thanksgiving day.  We carved 200 turkeys, 20 hams and scooped at least 75 trays each of mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing and yams.  The staff cut mounds and mounds of desserts.

Our guests traveled in style.  They came by limo.  They were all thrilled and couldn’t wait to call their families to tell them the good news.

This is a big initiative and it takes many to come together to make it happen.  I am so happy you could be a part of our Thanksgiving Dinner.
